Consulting Accomplishments
A skilled facilitator and an award winning strategist and writer, Bower has successfully helped clients:
Transition a House of Delegates from a traditional meeting format to a dialogue based approach that streamlines process while providing the opportunity for all participants to fully engage
Create strategic plans which position organizations to anticipate changing environments and deliver increased value to members
Realign governance processes and structures to be more strategic and less cumbersome and then reshape both the work of both volunteer and staff subgroups of the organization to support new structures
Train boards and committees to be more strategic in their focus and to understand how to conduct their work through dialogue and conversation rather than through position power and politics
Conduct organizational audits to align the work of the organization and the structure needed to ensure the work can get done effectively
Facilitate sensitive conversations across constituency groups or industries
Assess the needs of key stakeholder groups through phone and focus group research to ensure leadership hears what really matters to move its decisions forward
Association Management Experience
Prior to entering consulting in 1991, she spent 20 years in association management and organizational communications. As Vice President for an international management-focused association, she developed and implemented its ground-breaking and nationally-recognized issues management program, created the organization's communications function, and had responsibility for publications, public relations, marketing, sales, strategic planning and issues management. Under her tenure, she transitioned an academic journal into an award winning, profitable business magazine; oversaw the development of new products and services, and established new profit centers for the organization.
