Leigh Wintz, CAE
Leigh Wintz's Resource Center
Association Management Experience
Leigh is still a practicing association executive. In addition to consulting,
she is CEO of Soroptimist International of the Americas, a professional
and executive women's organization dedicated to improving the lives
of women and girls. She has held this position for the past 13+ years.
Prior to this position, she was executive director of the General Federation
of Women's Clubs and a senior manager of several different health care
organizations. Her practical and real-world advice to associations is
borne out of her ongoing interaction with the ever-changing challenges
that face non-profit organizations in today's world.
Education and Professional Involvements
A Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), she
is chair of the Fellows Selection Committee. She served on ASAE's board
of directors for three years and in 1992 won ASAE's international management
award. Active in other professional organizations, she has served on
the board of directors of the Delaware Valley Society of Association
Executives and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
She is currently chair-elect of PCMA.
In addition to being a certified association executive (CAE), Leigh
is a professional registered parliamentarian (PRP) who specializes in
writing or revising bylaws and presiding at conventions. A graduate
of George Mason University with a master's degree in administration,
she is a frequent speaker and workshop facilitator on management, parliamentary
pearls and perils, women's issues and international meeting planning.
